Mike Shanahan’s Denver Home AV Tour: How a Super Bowl Coach Watches the NFL

There’s not a flaw anywhere in this house—and then you get downstairs to the reason I flew into Denver. I’m in the home of legendary Broncos head coach Mike Shanahan with Precision Media, standing in front of a 163″ Just Video Walls MicroLED built for daytime football, RedZone multiview, and a whole-home system that never apologizes for Colorado light.

Craft first: invisible audio upstairs, statement wall downstairs

Upstairs, Mesa Properties’ architecture leads. Floating ceilings, Lutron lighting and shades, Sonance invisible speakers mudded into the drywall so music shows up without boxes on the wall. A glare-free Samsung in a bright living space proves the same matte philosophy we chase on MicroLED—windows shouldn’t own the picture.

Outdoor living that works more months of the year

The covered patio is entertainment infrastructure: outdoor shades with a tighter weave so heaters can actually hold the space, Samsung Terrace displays, JL in-ceiling bass, and cameras that auto-track. Pickleball down the hill, landscape speakers around the perimeter—Precision treated the yard like another room.

The 163″ wall: sports multiview without the cave

Football happens in daylight. Blacking this room out for a projector never felt right. Precision landed on a 1.2 pitch flip-chip Just Video Walls display with an MX40 processor, custom horned LCR with a phantom-center trick, and isolated JL 13.5″ in-wall subs hung so the walls don’t shake apart. Multiview turns the wall into four big panes—RedZone plus games—without remote chaos.

Racks, power, and hiring hungry people

Behind the scenes: a 10 kW isolation UPS protecting the wall and house electronics, McIntosh for the media room, Sonance DSP for invisibles, Kaleidescape for lossless movies, Savant everywhere, Lutron lighting and shade panels, rebootable WattBox circuits. Mike talked about hiring people who love the craft—the same standard you hear when Cameron labels every power strip in the rack.
